Floral Red: In The Mood for Valentine’s

Dress: Floral Ruched Dress Diane Von Furstenberg (old)
Shoes: Ann Taylor Perfect Patent Pumps
Jewelry: Jewelmint Soleil Bracelet, J. Crew Hippo Necklace
Handbag: Chanel Wallet on Chain in Dark Red (borrowed)

What it’s like to be young and in love? It is a free falling feeling, like an endless all consuming fire. Time flies and you feel like you’re on a cloud. I remember those days like yesterday. Even with 2 kids and limited time to do things together, my husband and I always try to do something together. Even it’s inviting the other to go to Best Buy or Target. Those times just being by ourselves keep our marriage strong. We talk, we chat, we tell each other funny tidbits and stories we heard that day. Just spending at least 1 -2 hours alone is precious.

There minutes we snap at each other, but it doesn’t mean we do not appreciate one another. Marriage is by all means NOT EASY. Everyone has to work equally hard and we must support each other through thick and thin. No matter what.

What is so special about this dress? I bought it for my engagement to my husband. I was looking for a dress at Saks and my mother loved it! To this day, the symbol of this dress is to celebrate our love. What a perfect memory of love through an outfit.

After 7 years of marriage, our Valentine’s Day tradition is very simple: we just spend time together and celebrate our love for each other. That’s all that matters.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sequins – All Day Affair

Top: Ann Taylor Sequin Sleeveless Sweater
Bottom: Line & Dot Party Play Skirt (on sale at Piperlime)
Shoes: Nina Ricci Bow Peep Toe Pumps in Silver – old
Accessories: Ann Taylor Tiered Necklace, Ann Taylor Loft Ring, Forever21 bangle in Pink, House of Harlow 1960 Peacock Bangle
Purse: Coach clutch

I have a strong attachment to sequins. I believe sequins just brighten up a dull day and keeps anyone in a fun, lively party mood. I particularly love the sequin skirt overlaid with tulle. Tulle can be seen as promy, and too youthful. However the sequin skirt lining creates a festive and mature look. What I also love is the elasticized waistband! Talk about comfort.

I couldn’t help but do a twirl in the skirt!

Military Sweater & Straight Leg Cargo Pants

Top: Sweater with Shoulder Pads – Zara sz: S
Bottom: Cargo Pants Martin Fit – Banana Republic Factory sz: 6

Shoes: Strappy Heels in Stone – Ann Taylor Loft sz: 7 1/2

I wanted to wear a military styled outfit since there’s a Blogger’s Do It Better Challenge. I realized that I had given many military styled clothing away – either to my mom or donated it. I had a perfectly green military trench and a purple military coat about 1 month ago.

The morning of these pictures, there was quite a breeze around. I dressed warmly in this Zara sweater. The sweater is just the right size for me, not to short or long. It does have a boxy cut. The only complaint I have is the wool – very scratchy. I might have to wear a shirt underneath to help with the roughness. I’ve been having these pants since the summer. I like it very much. I think the straight lines of the pants and the coloring pulls a military vibe. I love the strappy shoes by Loft. It is sexy and comfy. Though after a week of walking in heels, my ankles are starting to scream.

What else should I add to this outfit?
